The next time you visit the Murchison Medical Clinic, you may be handed a tablet and asked to take a brief survey while waiting for your appointment. MMC is participating in StepCare, an online project of the Black Dog Institute that is a clinical, research and educational mental health organisation.
Did you know that most Australians struggle with low mood or worries throughout their lives; and that the majority of Australians with anxiety and depression do not seek treatment? 1 in 6 will experience depression in their lifetime. 1 in 4 will experience anxiety in their lifetime.
By taking part in this project, you will help to test an online service that assists you and your GP to tell if you are having low mood or worries with treatment options and online resources. The survey is open to anyone 18 years or older and has an email address. Once you’ve answered the short survey you will get feedback straight away and a short summary of your results will be sent securely to your GP, so you can talk about it in your appointment if you wish. The doctors and staff at MMC hope you find this new service valuable. Enquiries call 58 262 575.
