The Goulburn Region Preschool Association (GRSPA) is seeking community-minded individuals to fill a number of vacancies on its Board of Management. GRPSA is an Early Years Management organization funded by the State Government. Early Years management reduces the administrative pressures on volunteer parent committee’s by handling the staffing, licensing requirements and financial responsibilities associated with managing centres.
“It’s an exciting time for in the early childhood sector with the eventual completion of the 3 year old Kinder roll-out in 2022” says Ronni Druitt, GRPSA CEO, “ After a challenging year, we are ready to push forward with new strategies and growth and are seeking community driven and minded individuals to help achieve our goals”
To assist GRPSA achieve its vision of ensuring the provision of quality early childhood educational programs in rural Victoria, new Board members are sought to replace a number of retiring members. Currently the members of the Board comprise of several representatives from the 16 centres in the cluster and one Community member. However at the upcoming AGM in May several Board members will be stepping down from their two-year appointment. To increase diversity in the Board, GRPSA would like to hear from people from a wide range of backgrounds, including community members with a corporate background, government, finance background or education sector background.
“This is a great opportunity for people to give something back to the community and to make a real difference” says Mrs. Druitt. “GRPSA needs enthusiastic people willing to share that knowledge”.
The Board of Management meet five times a year to set the strategy and direction of the Association. At least two of those meetings are virtual.
There are 16 centres under the umbrella of GRPSA, they are; Avenel, Barmah, Colbinabbin, Euroa, Katamatite, Merrigum, Murchison, Nagambie, Nathalia, Toolamba, Tungamah, Violet Town, Undera, Yarrawonga and Punt Road and Eilleen Taylor Kindergarten’s in Cobram.
