The dining room at the Caledonian Hotel Murchison was a buzz of conversation tonight as fifty five people came together for the Murchison Business Event. Guest Speaker Damian ‘Will’ Willoughby from WillOnSocial gave a dynamic presentation about the benefits of having a presence on social media.
Guests heard about where people were on the internet and about connectivity at a global level, a national level and then in the Greater Shepparton.
“Just because you’re no online doesn’t mean other people aren’t”, he said. “The internet is where people are and its where their audience is”, he said. “It’s about understanding where your audience is and establishing your target audience.”
According to Mr Willoughby social media wasn’t ‘the answer’ or ‘the future’. ”It’s a tool for today” he said.
The event was hosted by the Murchison Community Plan Committee, and members would like to thank Rohan Sali from Greater Shepparton City Council for co-ordinating the night, and other speakers on the night, Cr. Kim O’Keefe and Tricia Martinek from the Greater Shepparton Business Centre.
