Murchison Primary has proudly taken part in the State School Spectacular (SSS) every second year. There were whispers earlier this year that, due to COVID, perhaps there wouldn’t be the normal arena show where a thousand school children dance and sing together. It was thought it would be done ‘virtually’ with pre-recorded footage. Then we received the news from Miss Bravo – the SSS show would be going ahead, live! Students have been busily learning routines and recently took part in a face to face lesson together with Pyalong Primary. Students got to spend hours rehearsing on Thursday 29th April at our Community Centre. They’ve worked hard and are on track! Go team!
On the same day, students from years 4, 5 and 6 headed to Shepparton to meet (and play with) members of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO). Students from Tatura Primary, Mooropna Park and Mooropna Primary, and of course Murchison Primary joined to learn from some of the best. Students broke into their instrument groups and worked with a member of the MSO to construct a piece of music. What an opportunity for our students!
